FIRST AWARD: $300 and production of winning play
SECOND AWARD: $200 and a reading of play
THIRD AWARD: $100 and a critique of play

Competition Rules
1. Authors must be U.S. Citizens or legal residents.
2. Entries must be original, full length plays of no more than 1 hour and 45 minutes, unpublished, unproduced, and not currently under any option. "Unproduced" means: No previous production of any kind (Equity
or non-equity) for which actors or authors were paid or admission was charged, or both. Worked staged readings are acceptable.
3. An author may submit only one entry, whether under his or her name or a pseudonym. Co-authorships are permissible.
4. Entries must be written in English.
5. Entries can use the standard play script format. View our site for the prefered script format .
6. Entries should have language and content suitable for general audiences.
7. Play must cover the time period of 1940-1947 and can be about any WWII related subject including, but not limited to: the American Home front, the European Theatre, the Pacific Theatre, the Government or Military
Services.
8. The following entries are not eligible: musicals, one act plays, groups of short one act plays (related or unrelated), adaptations, translations, children's plays, or a play that has won or placed in any prior Steven
Stoli Foundation, Inc. WWII Playwriting Competition.
9. Entries are to be submitted between June 1, 2003 and October
31, 2003. The postmark deadline is December 31, 2003. Winners will be notified by February 1, 2004.
10. There is a non-refundable submission fee (check or money order) of $10.
11. Submissions in non-compliance of these Rules and the Submissions Procedures will be ineligible for the contest. For return of ineligible submissions, please read Number 6 under "Submission
Procedures."
12. Entries will not be critiqued.
13. The judges' decisions are final.
14. As the sponsor of this Competition, The Steven Stoli Foundation, Inc. has the right to exercise at its sole discretion, the author's name, photograph, and title of any award winning entry for publicity about the
WWII Playwriting Competition and its results.
15. Each award winner shall, at all times, in connection with publication, production, publicity, programs, posters, and advertisements about an award winning entry, designate that the play is an "Award Winner of The Steven Stoli Foundation Inc., WWII Playwriting
Competition."
16. Each entry shall be free from copyright restrictions and the author shall hold The Steven Stoli Foundation Inc., its officers, and directors free and harmless from all copyright claims.
17. No plays may be withdrawn from the contest after final deadline.
